The Seychelles is a dream destination for a week-long or extended yacht charter. Every sailing trip begins on Mahé, the largest island in the archipelago, where the modern Eden Island Marina provides an excellent base. The marina offers convenient facilities and everything needed to prepare for the journey – from provisioning to comfortable amenities for the crew.
Once you set sail from Mahé, your first stop should be the Sainte Anne Marine National Park, which spans six islands surrounded by crystal-clear waters. This area dazzles with its underwater beauty, including breathtaking coral reefs. Snorkelling here is an unforgettable experience, revealing the fascinating diversity of marine life.

After relaxing in Sainte Anne, it's time to head to La Digue, one of the most beautiful and distinctive islands in the Seychelles. La Digue embodies the essence of a tropical paradise – granite rocks with fantastical shapes, white sandy beaches, and turquoise waters make time seem to stand still. Life on this island flows at a slow pace, with bicycles being the primary mode of transport, giving it a unique charm. Don’t miss the famous Anse Source d’Argent beach, where the landscape looks like something out of a postcard. However, beware of the swell and the waves, which break close to the shore. The island also offers wilder and less frequented beaches, such as Grande Anse, which captivate with their natural beauty and tranquillity. Each time you drop anchor near La Digue, it promises a day filled with relaxation and discovery – unless the swell flips your dinghy and leaves you stranded on the beach, so be mindful of the conditions!

Next on the route is Praslin, the second-largest island in the Seychelles, renowned for the Vallée de Mai nature reserve. This is where the unique coco de mer palms grow, famous for their large seeds that have become a symbol of the archipelago. Praslin is also a haven for beach lovers – Anse Lazio, often listed among the most beautiful beaches in the world, enchants visitors with its soft sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Surrounding Praslin are many smaller islands, such as Grand Soeur, known for its pristine beaches and fantastic snorkelling spots. Encounters with groups of exotic fish while observing underwater life are moments that stay with you forever.

On Curieuse, we had the extraordinary opportunity to meet giant tortoises roaming freely around the island. These majestic creatures, some weighing over 200 kilograms, curiously approached us, especially when they noticed we had bits of leaves or fruit. We observed them up close, admiring their slow movements and ancient shells that seemed to tell the story of the island. In a dedicated reserve, we also learned about the conservation efforts for these remarkable animals, which are a symbol of the Seychelles. This was one of the most memorable highlights of our voyage.
During the journey, the palms and coconuts stand out as an integral part of the Seychelles' landscape. Fresh coconuts, served on the beaches or collected during a stop, add a local flavour to every moment spent on the islands.

Most yachts available for charter in the Seychelles are spacious catamarans, offering great stability and comfort both during sailing and at anchor. To fully enjoy the freedom and independence of your trip, it’s worth choosing a vessel equipped with a generator and a water maker, allowing the crew to spend more time at anchorages away from ports.
A week-long sailing trip in the Seychelles is a harmonious blend of adventure, relaxation, and connection with pristine nature. Each day on the water is an opportunity to discover new beaches, marvel at the diversity of marine life, and admire the extraordinary beauty of this tropical paradise. Whether exploring the reefs of Sainte Anne, wandering around La Digue, or unwinding on the beaches of Praslin, the Seychelles guarantee unforgettable experiences that will remain in your memory for a long time. □
